The story of eScape evolved over the spring of 2007. What began as a sixty-page script with a beginning, middle and end soon grew into a fantastic episodic exploration helmed by the kids who stepped forward to take the challenge of creating something special.
Every Thursday for five weeks of May and June, seven critical cast members met at the studio here in the Cucumber Alley firehouse to workshop the script. After a read-through, the actors broke off into groups to deconstruct their scenes and add nuances that were not existent in the original draft.
When it came time to shoot, the script had been reborn through their crafting and we had six episodes of mysteries, character development, plot twists and cliffhangers.
During the shoot, we gained several more amazing actors originally cast as extras, but all rose to the occasion and provided such amazing chemistry and depth to the story that they all had moments to shine.
The story explores themes of childhood and growing up from the both the perspective of the children and of their parents who have their own mysteries to encounter.
